ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE!!!

So beamiesbuddies nominated me for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge yesterday. Of course, I decided to participate out of the goodness of my heart.

Voilà! A beautiful ALS ice bucket!

Psyche! I’ll be doing the challenge for real this weekend haha.

Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever put up a selfie here or anything, so that’ll be the first time most of you guys will ever see me! So before I actually post the video, you guys are free to send descriptions what you think I look like, whether written or doodled, and I might even give the most accurate description a little prize~ ;)

Congratulations to Se Jun Park on winning the Pokemon Video Game World Championships!

And thanks, Pachirisu, for showing us that with hard work and determination, even the smallest among us can take the world by storm!

I read some of the books in the series, but it was a looong time ago haha. Need to reread those! I don’t remember much except Artemis is awesome and the butler is a precious sassy asshole. Also the main girl fairy was kickass.

READ THEM.

READ THEM FRIEND.

Holly is the boss of the whole series. The. Boss.

HOLY SHIT, I was NOT expecting that!! Please excuse me while I swoon!

I haven’t quite gathered all seven Millennium Items yet, but I’ve got five down, one in the mail, and one in the works!

These are all 3D-printed models of my own design, and they’re actually all available for sale at my Shapeways shop!

Check out all the details and how to get a nice gold shine on them at my Millennium Items page~

BONUS: The Millennium Items page includes a fully rotatable 3D model viewer, so you can see before you buy AND you can draw the Millennium Items from any crazy angle you desire!
(Plus they’re really glittery and shiny and I am very pleased by the effect, oooooh)

These look INCREDIBLE.

The fact that you have the hidden blade in the rod, and also the eye coming out of the bowl of soup make me absolutely giddy. 8D

Ahhhhh, thank you! <3

These are epic! I’ve never thought about how handy 3D printing would be for cosplay props. Did you design them yourself?

I’ve never actually seen the design software 3D printers use. My friend has a bunch of sweet figurines he designed at his undergraduate college though. My favorite was his little TARDIS.

The Millennium TARDIS?

No, just a regular blue police box type TARDIS. A Millennium TARDIS sounds pretty badass though.

I believe he also has a Yoda head and a miniature castle. All the figures my friend has shown me are pretty small. I don’t think the 3D printer his school has can build large objects like the one vaguelygenius has access to obviously can. None of the objects were any bigger then my fist.

The Yoda head and the castle tower are actually commonly-used 3D models for checking the accuracy of a printing machine. Another common one is a T-rex. Making a complicated shape lets you notice any mess-up and see how tiny a detail you can manage. For example, if the T-rex’s teeth look more like gums, you know you can’t use that printer for very fine, free-hanging details without some serious calibration.

As for the size of the prints, I limit myself to the 15cm (about 5.9in) cubed so that Shapeways can fit them into their polishing machine. The Ring only fits because I placed the spikes very, very close to the main body, and I designed the bigger Items to be pieced together from smaller parts and easily assembled. Just add superglue and you’re good to go! Keeps the cost lower and makes sure you have a nice polish out of the box! Shapeways can actually print much bigger stuff in plastic and even metal though, it just won’t be polished after printing.

Ahhh, thank you! Yup, I designed all of these by myself! I used SolidWorks, since that’s what I learned to use in school, but there are a ton of 3D-modeling programs out there. This page has a pretty good round-up of them, actually.

SolidWorks is super intuitive and a beautiful program, but it’s professional engineering software, so a license costs an arm and a leg! It’s great for getting very precise dimensions, which is how I can get VERY accurate with my props.

I have heard a lot of good things about Blender and Sculptris, though, and those are definitely better programs to use if you want to make character designs or very organic art sculptures, especially since both are free!

I just have to fix up the Millennium Scales and then I’ll be done with all the Millennium Items, which is exciting! Then I’ll probably do a couple more YGO models, but then I’ll be fresh out of YGO things to model.

I do enjoy fiddling with models and playing around in SolidWorks though, so I’ve been making a fewdifferentpendants in my spare time, and even Mako’s ring from KLK. So I’ll probably try making cool stuff for other fandoms afterwards, haha.

I don’t really have the money to buy this sort of thing, but it’s still fun to learn about the technology. I can’t wait to see all your finished products!

I’m excited to get my latest 3D prints too! Yeah, the only sucky part about 3D-printing is that it can get expensive… ;^; I do have some mini Millennium Items too, so if someone you know is buying something, you can always give them the money for a smaller item and save on shipping, since it’s a flat rate! That’s why I always try to send off items to print in batches rather than one by one. Definitely planning to make mini Rods for portable mind control too! 8D

Charizard’s Mega Evolutions are so awesome, and it’s great that you have a choice in which strategy to use- and it adds an element of surprise since the enemy can’t be sure which one you’re using until you mega evolve!

This tribalish design is available on T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, phone cases, you name it!

And you can choose whether you’d prefer Mega Charizard Y facing up, or Mega Charizard X facing up~

So I have one of beamiesbuddies' adorable Bakura dolls, and one of my friends had a Marik, so of course we had to have a little photoshoot with my growing collection of 3D-printed Millennium Items! Since they’re life-sized, they’re adorably large for these villainous cuties.

There are more pictures in the photoshoot, which you can find here.
WARNING: A plush hand comes within very close proximity of a plush buttock, so please think of the children and cover their eyes before clicking the link!

If you want cute custom dolls of your own, make sure to get in touch with beamiesbuddies, and if you want to snag your own Millennium Items, check out my info page~!

Welcome to my bloody life.

Darling, I have a beautiful solution to your problem. Have you considered tornshipping?

Okay, so it turns out the seat cushions you have in these pictures are made from the exact same fabric my mother used to make her kitchen drapes…

After noticing this my thought was, They stole my mom’s drapes to make seat cushions?! Nooooooo!

And now I can’t help imagining abridged Marik actually doing that to mess with Yugi. XD

Omfg, that’s hilarious! The fabric isn’t the original cloth that came with the chair, my mom picked it when she got it upholstered, so it seems that our moms have similar tastes! XD Though tbh I voted against this cloth, I wasn’t fond of the faded colors. Go figure, haha.

So I had originally drawn this a little while back, But I thought it was lacking a little je-ne-sais-quoi. So I did my best to add some shading and gave these three bad boys a background and now I think they look at least 27.86% cooler.

And, damn, do they look cool on a T-shirt or what?
